Modern Calligraphy Workshop at Colton House Hotel

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a sold-out Beginner Modern Calligraphy Class at the beautiful Colton House Hotel in Austin, and let me tell you – it was nothing short of magical! The evening was filled with creativity, delicious food, cocktails, and a lot of fun as participants learned the delicate art of pointed pen calligraphy.

The Perfect Setting for Creativity

Colton House Hotel was the perfect venue for this intimate and creative evening. Its stylish and modern ambiance set the stage for a relaxing night of learning. Guests were greeted with a welcoming atmosphere, where they could sip on delicious cocktails from Simona's ATX and enjoy the incredible snacks that fueled their creativity for the night. The venue’s charm, paired with the artistic spirit of our attendees, made the night even more special.

Pointed Pen Calligraphy: A Timeless Art

Our class focused on the basics of pointed pen calligraphy, a beautiful and traditional form of hand lettering that brings such elegance to any occasion. Each attendee received their own calligraphy kit, including a pen, nib, and ink, to get started on their practice sheets. I was blown away by how quickly everyone picked up the technique! The room was filled with focus, laughter, and excitement as students inked their first strokes and developed their personal calligraphy styles. It’s always so rewarding to see people embrace the process and fall in love with the art form.

Special Guest Pop-Up and Behind-the-Scenes Magic

I couldn’t have done it without the help of my girl, Nathalie from @ladidaatx. She not only assisted me behind the scenes, making sure everything ran smoothly but also set up a fabulous pop-up Permanent Jewelry Station during the class. Her expertise and creative energy were such a fantastic addition to the event, and it was wonderful to have her be part of the experience.

New Faces, Lasting Memories

One of the best parts of the evening was meeting so many new faces who came eager to learn, connect, and create. The class was filled with individuals from all different walks of life, and I loved seeing how calligraphy brought everyone together. We shared stories, tips, and laughter throughout the evening, making it such a memorable experience for everyone involved.
