Engraving Harmonicas at the Rose Gala for To Cure a Rose Foundation

On August 10th, I had the honor of participating in a truly special event: the To Cure A Rose Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser Rose Gala at the Omni Barton Creek Resort in Austin, TX. The evening was a perfect blend of elegance, luxury, and purpose, bringing together the community in a powerful show of support for an incredible cause.

One of the unique highlights of the evening was the live engraving station where I, along with a talented team of three other engravers, had the honor of customizing harmonicas for the guests.

A Unique Keepsake: Hand Engraved Harmonicas

While the night was filled with Texas cocktails, gourmet food, and lively conversations, our engraving station added a special touch to the evening's experience. Guests had the opportunity to take home a truly unique keepsake—a harmonica, hand-engraved with their name, a meaningful word, or a personal message. Watching their faces light up as they saw their custom-engraved harmonicas was one of the most rewarding moments of the night.

Engraving harmonicas was an unconventional yet deeply personal touch that resonated with many attendees. The harmonicas symbolized not only the joy of music but also the impact of coming together for a cause that matters. Every engraved note became a melody of hope, echoing the evening’s mission to support To Cure a Rose Foundation.

The Team Behind the Art

Working alongside three other incredibly talented engravers, we created an environment where art, music, and philanthropy seamlessly intertwined. The level of skill, precision, and creativity within our team made this activation truly memorable. A huge shoutout to Jenny Blaschke for organizing such a stellar team of engravers. It was an absolute pleasure working together to make this experience extraordinary.

More Than Just an Event

The Rose Gala wasn’t just about fine dining, live music, or even the unique items up for auction—it was about community, connection, and the collective effort to make a difference. With every engraved harmonica, every conversation, and every bid at the auction, the guests were contributing to a cause much bigger than any of us individually.

All proceeds from the evening directly benefitted the To Cure a Rose Foundation. “To Cure a Rose Foundation brings genetic treatments to children with debilitating rare diseases, many associated with autism. [They] are focused on funding and bringing together determined researchers and promising technology to create a brighter future for children like Rose.” It was an honor to be part of such a transformative evening, and I am grateful to have contributed in my own way, through the art of engraving.
